Trump calls China’s WWII parade beautiful but criticizes Xi for not mentioning U.S. help in the war, urging global recognition of America’s role.
Trump Praises Parade but Feels US Was Ignored
Former U.S. President Trump has shared his thoughts on China’s large military parade held on September 3, 2025, to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War Two. He called the event a beautiful ceremony and very impressive, but added that China should have mentioned the U.S. for its help during the war.
Trump: We Helped China Very Much
Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump said:
President Xi is a friend of mine, but I thought the United States should have been mentioned during that speech, because we helped China very, very much.
Despite the positive comments about the ceremony, Trump also posted on his Truth Social account, suggesting that leaders like Xi, Putin, and Kim Jong Un may be “conspiring” against the U.S.
Military Parade Showcases China’s Power
Chinese President Xi Jinping led the parade in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square. Over 50,000 people attended as Chinese troops, tanks, and advanced weapons were displayed. Leaders from Russia, North Korea, and many other countries were also present.
The event aimed to show China’s growing military strength and global power. However, the U.S. role in helping China during World War Two was only briefly mentioned.

Trump Warns of Changing Alliances
Trump has often warned about changing global power balances. During the event, Xi met with Putin and Indian Prime Minister Modi at a summit, raising questions about growing cooperation between China, Russia, and India.
This comes after trade policies, which added tariffs on Chinese and Indian goods. Critics say these actions may have pushed other nations to grow closer together.
Trump’s History with Military Parades
Trump has always shown interest in military parades. In 2017, he attended France’s Bastille Day parade and later hosted a U.S. military parade in Washington to celebrate the Army’s 250th birthday. He enjoys these events as a way to show national pride and power.
Trade Policies Under Fire
Many of trade actions, including high tariffs, are facing legal challenges in U.S. courts. An appellate court recently ruled that some of the tariffs were based on incorrect interpretations of law. Has promised to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Still, he believes his policies are protecting American jobs and making the U.S. stronger, even if they cause tensions with allies.
A Complicated Relationship
Although Trump has called President Xi a friend, their relationship is complex. On one hand, praises Xi’s leadership style and strength. On the other, he accuses China of failing to give proper credit to the U.S. for its role in global history.
He wrote on Truth Social:
Please give my warmest regards to Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un, as you conspire against the United States of America.

Conclusion
Trump clearly respects China’s history and power, but wants the U.S. to be properly acknowledged. He believes the U.S. played a key part in helping China during World War Two and deserves recognition during such important events. As the world watches China’s rise, remains focused on making sure America’s role in history and in the future is not forgotten.
