Alarming Terror Statistics in KPK

From January to August 2025, KPK recorded 605 terror attacks. These deadly incidents led to the martyrdom of 138 civilians and 79 police personnel. Additionally, 352 civilians and 130 police officers were injured in the attacks.

The situation has intensified over the past month, with 129 attacks reported in August alone. During this period, 17 civilians and 13 police personnel were martyred, while 51 civilians and 46 police officers were injured.

Bannu and Waziristan Among Worst-Hit Areas

The Bannu district emerged as the most affected, with 42 terror incidents reported in August. Other regions facing frequent attacks include North Waziristan (15 incidents), South Waziristan (14), and Dir (11).These areas remain high-risk zones due to militant hideouts and border proximity.

Security Forces Respond with Operations

The police report also highlights that 351 suspects have been identified in recent terror incidents. Out of these, 32 were killed during operations, and 5 were arrested.

A major attack took place on September 2, 2025, when Indian-sponsored militants targeted the Frontier Constabulary (FC) Headquarters in Bannu. Six security personnel embraced martyrdom during the attack, which involved a car bomb breaching the facility’s wall. Security forces killed all five attackers.

Ongoing Efforts Against Militants

Security forces and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have intensified operations across KPK. In Bajaur and other tribal districts, targeted actions are underway to eliminate terrorist elements.

According to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), Pakistan recorded 78 attacks in June alone, resulting in 175 deaths, including civilians, security personnel, and militants.

The rise in terror activities is a serious concern for KPK and the nation. Authorities are continuing efforts to secure the region, but the recent wave of violence shows that the threat is far from over.

KPK needs continued support, strong counter terrorism measures, and unity to overcome this crisis.
