Lahore, August 26, 2025 – Stage actress Samar Rana arrested by Lahore police after her young maid accused her and others of rape and torture. The case has shocked people across Pakistan and started new talks about the safety of child domestic workers.
What the FIR Says
The 14-year-old girl had been working at Samar Rana’s house since August 8. On August 14, a man living upstairs gave her a drugged drink and raped her.
The next day, the actress’s employee also drugged and raped her, then called four more men who attacked her for two days.

After Samar Rana was arrested, the victim’s mother accused her of beating her daughter and forcing her to stay quiet.
She allegedly hit the child in the stomach, leaving injuries.

How the Case Was Reported
The girl escaped on August 18 but kept silent out of fear. On August 23, her mother saw her injuries, and the girl finally shared what had happened. They then went to Nawab Town police and filed a case. Soon after, Samar Rana arrested became the main headline as police raided her house. Authorities confirmed Samar Rana arrested and assured the victim’s family of justice. More suspects are still being searched for, but with Samar Rana arrested, the case has moved forward.
Police Action
Police raided Samar Rana’s house soon after the FIR was registered and took her into custody. According to officials, the stage actress is now under investigation, and her employee, along with four unidentified men, are still on the run. Police teams have been conducting raids at different locations to trace and arrest the other suspects involved in the case.
SP Investigation Saddar Division, Mian Moazzam Ali, assured the public that the case is being treated as a priority. He said that law enforcement will not rest until every suspect is caught and punished. The officer also promised that the victim and her family will receive full justice and protection.
