Fans of the classic TV show The Dukes of Hazzard are mourning the loss of actor Rick Hurst, who played the bumbling but lovable Deputy Cletus Hogg. Hurst passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2025, at the age of 79.

However, his breakout role came in 1979 when he joined The Dukes of Hazzard as Deputy Cletus Hogg, a dim-witted but good-hearted lawman. He appeared in 55 episodes until 1982, becoming a fan favorite.
