RDA Seals Illegal Buildings & Enforces Dengue SOPs on Girja Road Rawalpindi

RDA sealed buildings in Rawalpindi – The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has intensified action against dengue SOP violations and illegal constructions on Girja Road. Acting on the directions of DG RDA Kinza Murtaza, the Enforcement Squad sealed several buildings found in breach of public health and construction laws.

During the operation, five buildings that violated dengue prevention guidelines were sealed. This move is intended to stem the outburst of the mosquito-borne disease and safeguard local populations. The Enforcement Squad also sealed two buildings under construction where owners had not obtained required approvals and No Objection Certificates (NOCs).

It was conducted according to the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2021. They mandate that all builders first get due permits before beginning any construction. Offenders face severe fines and sealing of their buildings.

DG Rawalpindi Development Authority Kinza Murtaza emphasized that the authority will not compromise on public safety. She said compliance with dengue SOPs is mandatory and no leniency will be shown to violators. She added that this effort follows the direct instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who has mandated a zero-tolerance policy on illegal developments and encroachments.

The RDA highlighted that unapproved constructions not only endanger public health but also add to traffic congestion and urban hazards. By sealing such projects, the authority seeks to maintain safer streets and a healthier living environment for Rawalpindi residents.

Assistant Director Building Control Muhammad Daud, Building Surveyor Asim Nawaz, and other RDA officials supervised the enforcement drive. The authority urged builders, property owners, and residents to follow the rules, respect dengue SOPs, and cooperate with ongoing measures.

The RDA also called on the public to take responsibility in keeping areas free from encroachments. With combined efforts, the city can avoid health risks, reduce congestion, and ensure safer neighborhoods.

This operation reflects the RDA’s continued resolve to enforce the law, protect public health, and preserve order in Rawalpindi’s development.
