The National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) have intensified their crackdown on smuggling with a major operation on the M-5 Motorway near Uch Sharif. Officers successfully intercepted a suspicious vehicle carrying non-custom-paid goods, highlighting the force’s ongoing commitment to curb illegal trade and protect national revenue.
The Seizure on M-5
During routine surveillance, the Motorway Police flagged down a Suzuki Cultus with tinted windows. Upon a detailed inspection, officers uncovered 1,050 bundles of contraband cigarettes concealed inside. The estimated market value of the seized contraband was in the range of millions of rupees, causing a significant blow to smugglers attempting to exploit national highways for illegal trade.
