If you’re planning to sell your home, one of the best ways to attract potential buyers and increase your chances...
In 2024 and 2025, social media exploded with claims that Annabelle, the infamous haunted doll, had gone missing. Some people even linked her disappearance to fires and paranormal events. But is there any truth to these rumors?
Officials and paranormal experts have now stepped in to set the record straight.
The rumors started when visitors at a paranormal tour in Louisiana claimed they didn’t see Annabelle on display. Soon, posts on X (Twitter) and TikTok spread fear, with users asking:
Some even joked about fleeing the country to avoid the doll’s curse!
Around the same time, a fire broke out at Nottoway Resort (formerly Nottoway Plantation). Though completely unrelated, some people online speculated:
“What if Annabelle caused the fire?”
However, officials confirmed: No connection exists.
Dan Rivera, a researcher from the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR), quickly debunked the rumors. He posted a video from the Warrens’ Occult Museum in Connecticut, showing:
Annabelle safe inside her glass case
No signs of movement or escape
The doll never left the museum
Rivera confirmed:
“Annabelle is NOT lost. She’s right where she’s supposed to be—locked away in the museum.”
Despite horror movies like The Conjuring, the real Annabelle doll has never escaped. Here’s what we know:
Fact | Myth |
Annabelle is a Raggedy Ann doll (not the creepy porcelain doll from movies). | She does not roam freely or haunt people outside her case. |
She’s kept in a locked glass box with a “Do Not Touch” warning. | No verified reports prove she moves on her own. |
The Warrens claimed she was possessed by a demon, not a ghost. | No official records confirm she’s ever left the museum. |
A: No. Officials confirmed she was always in the Warrens’ Occult Museum.
A: No. She remains locked in her case.
A: Yes—she’s a real Raggedy Ann doll, but her haunting claims are unproven.
A: In the Warrens’ Occult Museum (Monroe, Connecticut), inside a sealed case.
A: The Warrens believed so, but there’s no scientific proof.
While horror movies and viral rumors make Annabelle seem like an unstoppable evil force, the truth is much simpler:
