Changan Pakistan Raises Car Prices by Up to Rs. 200,000 in 2025

Master Changan Motor Limited has announced a price hike across all its vehicle models, effective from July 1, 2025. This change affects popular models like the Oshan X7, Alsvin, Karvaan, and Sherpa, with price increases ranging from Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 200,000. The decision comes in response to new taxes introduced in the 2025–26 federal budget, impacting the entire auto industry in Pakistan.

Why Are Changan Car Prices Increasing?

The recent price adjustments are mainly due to a New Energy Vehicle (NEV) adoption levy introduced in the 2025–26 budget. This levy, ranging from 1% to 3% based on engine size, applies to all locally assembled vehicles in Pakistan. Automakers, including Changan, have raised prices to cover these extra costs. While some companies have absorbed part of the increase, most, including Changan, have passed it on to customers. Rising fuel and operational costs have also added pressure, making the price hike necessary.

Changan Oshan X7 Price Hike Details

The Changan Oshan X7, a popular SUV, has seen some of the largest price increases. The Comfort (7-seat) variant now costs Rs. 8,474,000, up by Rs. 175,000. The FS variants, available in 5-seat and 7-seat options, have both increased by Rs. 200,000, now priced at Rs. 9,149,000 and Rs. 9,299,000, respectively.

Changan Alsvin Price Changes

The Changan Alsvin, a compact sedan, has also been affected. The MT Comfort variant has gone up by Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 4,189,000. The Lumiere and Lumiere Black Edition models have each risen by Rs. 100,000, now priced at Rs. 4,899,000 and Rs. 4,999,000, respectively.

Karvaan and Sherpa Price Updates

For buyers looking at more affordable options, the Changan Karvaan Power Plus 1.2 has increased by Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 3,249,000. The Changan Sherpa Power 1.2, one of the most budget-friendly models, is now Rs. 2,349,000 after a Rs. 45,000 hike.

How the 2025–26 Budget Affects Car Buyers

The NEV adoption levy is part of Pakistan’s push to promote eco-friendly vehicles, but it has increased costs for traditional cars. This tax, combined with rising fuel prices and operational expenses, has forced automakers to adjust their pricing. For buyers, this means higher costs for both new and used Changan vehicles. If you’re planning to buy a car, now might be a good time to act before further increases.

What This Means for Changan Customers

The price hike affects all Changan buyers, from those eyeing the premium Oshan X7 to those looking for budget-friendly options like the Sherpa. While the increases are significant, Changan remains competitive in Pakistan’s auto market. However, customers should compare prices with other brands, as many automakers are also raising prices due to similar budget-related pressures.
