The Aghosh Program, launched by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, continues to improve maternal and child health across Punjab. In August 2025, the program showed steady progress, actively serving women in 13 districts and offering up to Rs. 23,000 in financial assistance for pregnant and lactating mothers.
Overview
The Aghosh Program is part of the Punjab Human Capital Investment Project. It links healthcare with financial support to reduce risks for mothers and newborns. By encouraging regular check-ups, safe deliveries, and immunization, the program provides both health and financial protection for vulnerable families.

Eligibility
To qualify for the, women must:
- Be a pregnant woman, lactating mother, or mother of a child under 2 years.
- Hold a valid CNIC.
- Reside in one of the 13 eligible districts.
How to Apply
- Visit the nearest Basic Health Unit (BHU) or Rural Health Center (RHC).
- Meet with the Lady Health Visitor (LHV) or health staff.
- Provide documents such as CNIC and proof of pregnancy or child’s birth certificate.
- Complete registration through the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Attend all scheduled visits to unlock staged payments under the Aghosh Program.
